Thrilling Draw in Saint Petersburg: Russia and Peru Share the Spoils

In the second half, the game became more physical, as evidenced by the yellow cards shown to A. Batrakov and M. Beveev for Russia, and to E. Noriega, M. Lazo and M. Araujo for Peru. Despite Russia’s dominance in possession and shots (9 shots in total against Peru’s 2, 4 on target against 2), Peru found the equalizer in the final minutes, at the 82nd minute, with a goal by A. Valera assisted by K. Quevedo. The match ended in a draw that left a bittersweet taste for both teams. Russia had more corners (5) compared to Peru’s 2, demonstrating their offensive superiority, although without being able to concretize it in the final result. D. Krugovoy received a yellow card in the last moments of the encounter.
