Galatasaray Dominates Rizespor in Rize
Rize, Turkey – In a match held at the Çaykur Didi Stadyumu, Galatasaray demonstrated their superiority by defeating Rizespor with a convincing performance. The match, corresponding to matchday 21 of the Süper Lig, 2025 season, saw Galatasaray dominate possession with 61% compared to Rizespor’s 39%.
Despite an early yellow card for I. Olawoyin of Rizespor in the 2nd minute, Galatasaray took the initiative and opened the scoring in the 19th minute thanks to a goal by B. A. Yilmaz, assisted by N. Lang. Before halftime, V. Osimhen of Galatasaray also received a yellow card.
In the second half, Galatasaray extended their lead in the 62nd minute with a goal by Y. Akgun, again assisted by B. A. Yilmaz. V. Osimhen sealed the victory in the 73rd minute with a third goal.
Despite Rizespor’s attempts to react, their play was limited by Galatasaray’s possession and precision. In terms of statistics, Galatasaray outperformed Rizespor in total shots (19 to 13) and shots on target (5 to 2). Both teams earned 3 corners. The referee, Ozan Ergun, whistled 12 fouls on Galatasaray and 11 on Rizespor.
