Novorizontino defeats Rio Branco ES in a second-half comeback
Cariacica, Espírito Santo – In a thrilling match played at Estádio Kleber José de Andrade, Novorizontino defeated Rio Branco ES 3-1 in the first round of the 2025 Copa Do Brasil. The game, played on February 27th, was marked by an own goal and a comeback by the visiting team.
The match started with a stroke of bad luck for Rio Branco ES. At the 14th minute, Rafael Donato scored an own goal, giving Novorizontino the lead. However, Novorizontino equalized before halftime thanks to a goal by Luis Oyama in the 45th minute.
The second half belonged to Novorizontino. Two goals in the 83rd and 87th minutes, scored by Dantas and Marlon respectively, sealed the victory for the visiting team. Despite Rio Branco ES’s efforts, the score remained unchanged. Yellow cards were distributed to both teams, but there were no expulsions. The game, although lacking precise data on possession and shots on goal, was dynamic and full of emotions until the final whistle. Novorizontino’s victory advances them to the next round of the Copa Do Brasil.
