Richards Bay falls to Kaizer Chiefs in a visitor-dominated match
Durban, KN – In a thrilling encounter at the King Goodwill Zwelithini Stadium, Kaizer Chiefs defeated Richards Bay 0-2 in round 18 of the 2024 Premier Soccer League season. Despite significantly lower possession (26%), Richards Bay put up a fight for much of the game. However, Kaizer Chiefs’ superiority in shots (20 to 12) and possession translated into two decisive goals.
The first goal came in the 48th minute, thanks to a goal by F. Gcaba, assisted by J. Figuareido. The second goal arrived in the 72nd minute, scored by Y. Mbuthuma, extending the visitors’ lead.
Richards Bay received two yellow cards, one for L. Zikhali in the 24th minute and another for M. Mthembu in the 90th minute. Kaizer Chiefs, on the other hand, maintained impeccable discipline without receiving any cards.
