Hard-Fought Draw in Belém: Remo and Novorizontino Share the Spoils
Belém, Pará – In a vibrant and hotly contested match at the Estádio Estadual Jornalista Edgar Augusto Proença, Remo and Novorizontino drew, in a match with everything: goals, cards, and high intensity. The match, valid for matchday 17 of the Brazilian Serie B, ended with a score of 1-1.
Remo took an early lead in the 10th minute with a goal from Matheus Davo, who capitalized on a good team play to beat the opposing goalkeeper. However, Novorizontino reacted and, just before halftime, in the 45th minute, Robson leveled the score with a goal that came after an assist from Fabio Matheus.
The match was tense, reflected by the yellow cards handed out. For Novorizontino, Matheus Frizzo and Jean Irmer were cautioned. For Remo, Marcelinho, Pedro Rocha, and Camutanga also received yellow cards.
Although Remo had a slight advantage in ball possession (52% against 48%), Novorizontino was more incisive in attack, with 16 total shots, although only 4 were on target, while Remo managed only 2 shots on target out of 10 total shots. Novorizontino also surpassed Remo in the number of corners (7 against 5). The referee, Afro Rocha De Carvalho Filho, was kept busy cautioning five players in total. In the end, a draw that leaves both teams with a bittersweet taste regarding their aspirations in Serie B.
