Sassuolo Triumphs Over Reggiana in a Card-Filled Match
Sassuolo defeated Reggiana 2-0 in a match played at the MAPEI Stadium – Città del Tricolore in Reggio Emilia, corresponding to matchday 15 of the 2024 Serie B. The match, refereed by Fabio Maresca, was characterized by a high number of yellow cards, with six for each team. Despite Sassuolo’s greater possession (52% vs 48%), Reggiana created more goal-scoring opportunities with 16 shots (5 on target) compared to Sassuolo’s 6 (3 on target). However, Sassuolo’s efficiency in front of goal proved decisive. Kristian Thorstvedt opened the scoring at the end of the first half (45th minute) with an assist from Domenico Berardi, and Samuel Mulattieri sealed the victory in the 77th minute.
