Real Sociedad thrashes Leganés in a vibrant match at Reale Arena
Donostia-San Sebastián, February 23, 2025 – Real Sociedad convincingly defeated Leganés at the Reale Arena in a La Liga matchday 25 encounter. The match, which ended 3-0, was characterized by the home side’s territorial dominance and notable attacking efficiency.
Arsen Zakharyan opened the scoring in the 12th minute with a goal assisted by Pablo Marin. Real Sociedad extended their lead in the 48th minute thanks to a goal by Takefusa Kubo, assisted by Jon Aramburu. In the closing stages of the match, Jon Ander Olasagasti sealed the victory with a goal in the 80th minute, assisted by Jon Martin.
Despite the defeat, Leganés did not give up and challenged their opponents for much of the game. However, Real Sociedad’s superiority in possession (54% to 46%) and shots on target (5 to 2) was evident. Both teams received several yellow cards, three each, with no red cards issued.
