Real Sociedad dominates possession but Athletic Club holds firm in tense Anoeta clash
Donostia-San Sebastián, May 4, 2025 – Real Sociedad edged out Athletic Club in a fiercely contested La Liga match at the Reale Arena, corresponding to Matchday 34. Officiated by César Soto Grado, the game was characterized by tension and a battle for midfield control. Possession heavily favored the home side (59%), resulting in a significant disparity in shots (12 for Real Sociedad, 3 for Athletic). However, both teams lacked clinical finishing. Three of Real Sociedad’s shots were on target, compared to only one for Athletic.
