Ceará defeats Bragantino in a thrilling match in Bragança Paulista
Bragança Paulista, São Paulo – Ceará achieved a convincing 2-1 victory against RB Bragantino in a match played at Estádio Nabi Abi Chedid, corresponding to the first round of the 2025 Serie A. The match, played on March 31st, was characterized by Ceará’s effectiveness in the opening minutes and Bragantino’s late reaction.
The visitors surprised Bragantino with two early goals. Pedro Raul, assisted by Diego, opened the scoring in the 12th minute, and Marllon, with an assist from Lucas Mugni, extended the lead in the 23rd minute. Pedro Raul received a yellow card in the 27th minute. Matheus Fernandes of Bragantino received a yellow card in the 33rd minute. I. Laquintana pulled one back for Bragantino before halftime, in the 45th minute. Fernando Sobral and Fabiano of Ceará were cautioned in the second half (minutes 46 and 52 respectively). Despite Bragantino’s 62% possession (18 shots, 7 on target), and 9 corners, Ceará managed to hold onto their lead until Eric Ramires scored for Bragantino in the 90th minute, but it was too late to level the score.
