Thrilling Draw at Allianz Stadion Between Rapid Vienna and Ried
Vienna, Austria – In a hard-fought match at the Allianz Stadion, Rapid Vienna and Ried played to an exciting draw. Rapid Vienna dominated possession with 65%, but couldn’t convert it into a decisive victory.
Rapid took the lead in the 32nd minute thanks to a goal from L. Schaub, assisted by P. Dahl, sparking joy in the home stands. However, the joy was short-lived as O. Steurer equalized for Ried in the 40th minute, assisted by P. Kiedl.
The second half began with controversy when P. Pomer converted a penalty in the 53rd minute, putting Ried ahead. The remainder of the match was marked by a series of yellow cards, reflecting the intensity and nervousness on the field. Despite their efforts and superior possession (16 shots versus Ried’s 11), Rapid couldn’t find the winning goal. The match ended in a draw, leaving both teams with mixed feelings.
