Huracán Edges Past Racing Montevideo in Thrilling Sudamericana Match
Montevideo, May 8, 2025 – Huracán secured a 3-1 victory over Racing Montevideo in a captivating CONMEBOL Sudamericana Group Stage match (Matchday 4) at the Estadio Centenario. Officiated by Peruvian referee Augusto Menendez, Huracán dominated possession (63%) and shots (21 to 11).
Racing took the early lead with a goal from Brian Tomatis in the 25th minute, assisted by Maximiliano Cáceres. However, Huracán responded swiftly, leveling the score in the 41st minute through Agustín Urzi, assisted by Matías Miljevic. Huracán took control in the second half, extending their lead through Francisco Pereyra in the 55th minute (Miljevic assist) and finally securing the win with a goal by Ramiro Cabral in the 90th minute, assisted by Gabriel Alanis.
Despite the loss, Racing Montevideo showed fight and created chances but lacked the finishing touch. Yellow cards were shown to two Racing players (Ferreira and Bosca) and one Huracán player (Guidara). The high-intensity match concluded with a 3-1 win for the Argentinian team.
