Racing Club suffered an unexpected defeat against Newell’s Old Boys in a vibrant match played at the Estadio Presidente Juan Domingo Perón in Avellaneda. The match, corresponding to matchday 16 of the 2025 Argentine Professional League, ended with a 1-0 victory for the visitors. The expulsion of S. Sosa in the 45th minute was a turning point in the game. Racing, who dominated possession with 58%, had 14 shots, but only two were on target. Despite their possession advantage, Racing accumulated 11 fouls and 3 yellow cards, in addition to Sosa’s red card.
