Pyramids FC Edges Out Orlando Pirates in Thrilling Champions League Semi-Final
Pyramids FC defeated Orlando Pirates 3-2 in a captivating CAF Champions League semi-final clash at the 30 June Air Defence Stadium in Cairo. The match, played on April 25th, 2025, was a rollercoaster ride with both teams trading blows.
R. Mofokeng put Pirates ahead in the 41st minute, assisted by T. Xoki. However, F. Mayele leveled for Pyramids FC just before half-time (45th minute), with M. Fathi providing the assist. M. Nkota restored Pirates’ lead in the 52nd minute. But Pyramids FC, dominating possession (61%), responded with a goal from R. Sobhi in the 57th minute, assisted by M. Chibi. Finally, F. Mayele sealed the victory with his second goal of the game in the 84th minute.
