Goal Fest in Eindhoven: PSV Crushes Napoli in Champions League
Eindhoven, October 21, 2025 – The Philips Stadion witnessed a thrilling and goal-laden match where PSV Eindhoven defeated Napoli with a resounding score in the third matchday of the UEFA Champions League group stage.
Napoli took the lead in the 31st minute with a goal by S. McTominay, assisted by L. Spinazzola. However, PSV responded quickly. An own goal by A. Buongiorno in the 35th minute leveled the score, and shortly after, I. Saibari put the home side ahead in the 38th minute, assisted by G. Til.
The second half was a PSV goal festival. D. Man scored a brace, in the 54th and 80th minutes, with assists from Mauro Junior and J. Veerman respectively. Although S. McTominay scored again for Napoli in the 86th minute, with a pass from David Neres, PSV did not slow down. R. Pepi (87′) and C. Driouech (89′) sealed the victory with two more goals, assisted by C. Driouech and R. Pepi respectively. Driouech concluded his participation with a yellow card in the last minute.
The match was intense, with a total of five yellow cards for PSV and two for Napoli (one yellow and one straight red for L. Lucca in the 76th minute). PSV dominated possession with 58% and generated a large volume of shots (19), while Napoli, although with less possession (42%), tried to create danger from set pieces with more corners (8). German referee Daniel Siebert had a busy night at the Philips Stadion.
