Preston Stages Thrilling Comeback Victory Over Sheffield United
Preston secured a dramatic victory at Deepdale against Sheffield United, in a match filled with twists and turns. The game, part of Championship Round 12, saw Sheffield United take an early lead with goals from A. Brooks in the 10th minute and C. O’Hare in the 16th minute, both assisted by T. Campbell. It looked as if the visiting team had complete control of the match.
However, Preston refused to give up. L. Dobbin pulled one back just before halftime, in the 45th minute, assisted by D. Jebbison, giving hope to the home crowd. The second half began spectacularly for Preston, with an own goal from J. Tanganga in the 46th minute leveling the score. The comeback was completed in the 58th minute with a goal from D. Jebbison, assisted by A. Vukcevic.
The match was marked by a high number of yellow cards, four for Preston (O. Offiah, S. T. Thordarson, J. Storey, and H. Armstrong) and one for Sheffield United (J. Riedewald).
