Port FC and Persib Bandung played a thrilling match at the BG Stadium in Pathum Thani, Thailand, for the fifth matchday of the 2024 AFC Cup group stage. The game, played on November 28th at 2 PM and refereed by Ammar Mahfoodh from Bahrain, ended with a 2-3 victory for Persib Bandung.
Despite dominating possession (62%), Port FC couldn’t hold onto the lead. Ciro opened the scoring for Persib Bandung in the 17th minute from a penalty. L. Doumbouya responded with two goals for Port FC in the 18th and 31st minutes, the second assisted by Felipe Amorim. In the dying minutes, the Indonesian team fought back: D. Da Silva scored in the 90th minute, sealing the victory for Persib Bandung. The match was marked by tension, with three yellow cards for Port FC (F. Putros, A. Mangkualam, and T. Poeiphimai, the latter in stoppage time) and one for S. Bureerat also at the end of the match. Port FC had 6 shots, 3 on target, while Persib Bandung had 4 shots, 1 on target.
