Polokwane City Upsets Kaizer Chiefs with 2-0 Victory in Pietersburg
Polokwane City secured an unexpected 2-0 victory over Kaizer Chiefs in a thrilling match played at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Pietersburg on December 8th, 2024. Despite Kaizer Chiefs dominating possession (65% vs 35%), it was the home side that secured the win thanks to efficient attacking play.
O. Appollis opened the scoring in the 17th minute, assisted by T. Nkwe. The second half saw a flurry of yellow cards, with Polokwane City receiving three (Kambala, Maphangule, and Matuludi) and Kaizer Chiefs receiving four (Blom, Maart, Shabalala, and Seabi).
