Politehnica Iasi Rout Uta Arad in Thrilling Romanian Liga I Match
Politehnica Iasi secured a resounding 4-0 victory over Uta Arad in a Liga I relegation round match played at the Stadionul Emil Alexandrescu in Iaşi on March 30th, 2025. Despite possessing only 27% of the ball compared to Arad’s 73%, Iasi proved far more clinical in front of goal.
Goals came at various stages of the game. A. Roman opened the scoring in the 4th minute, assisted by Guilherme. S. Camara doubled the lead in the 29th minute, with A. Diakhaby providing the assist. J. Marchioni added a third before halftime in the 44th minute. X. Skuka sealed the victory with a penalty in the 81st minute.
The match was a fiercely contested affair, with a total of 26 fouls committed (19 by Iasi and 7 by Arad). Five yellow cards were shown: two to Iasi (Bordeianu and Samayoa) and three to Arad (Van Durmen, Trif, and Mpoku). Despite Arad’s dominance in possession and shots (20 to 14), Politehnica Iasi’s accuracy proved decisive. The referee was Adrian Viorel Cojocaru.
