Pohang Steelers defeated Vissel Kobe 3-1 in a thrilling AFC Champions League group stage match played at the Steelyard in Pohang. The match, refereed by Alireza Faghani from Iran, was marked by high intensity and goal-scoring opportunities for both teams. Steelers opened the scoring early with goals from Han Chan-Hee (13′) and Kim In-Sung (20′). Vissel Kobe pulled one back with a penalty scored by D. Sasaki (34′), although a disallowed goal for offside by R. Hirose (36′) prevented them from closing the gap further in the first half. In the second half, Jeong Jae-Hee sealed the victory for Pohang Steelers with a goal in the 90th minute.
