Pogon Szczecin Triumphs Over Zaglebie Lubin in Thrilling Cup Match
Szczecin, Poland – Pogon Szczecin secured a 5-3 victory over Zaglebie Lubin in a captivating Polish Cup Round of 16 match at the Stadion Miejski im. Floriana Krygiera. The game was a rollercoaster of goals and excitement.
Pogon dominated the first half, scoring two early goals. Kacper Grosicki opened the scoring in the 19th minute, assisted by Aleksander Gorgon. Gorgon proved to be a key player, assisting Vadim Bichakhchyan for the second goal in the 24th minute. However, Zaglebie Lubin pulled one back before halftime with a penalty converted by Tomasz Pienko in the 44th minute.
The second half continued with the same intensity. Gorgon extended Pogon’s lead in the 50th minute with a superb goal, but Zaglebie Lubin responded with a goal from Dawid Kurminowski in the 62nd minute, assisted by Pienko. Kurminowski scored again in the 76th minute, narrowing the gap further. Despite yellow cards for Rafał Kurzawa and Bartosz Zech, Pogon held firm and sealed the victory with a goal from Patryk Paryzek in the 88th minute, again assisted by Gorgon. The final score was a thrilling 5-3 in favor of the home team.
