Cracovia suffers agonizing defeat against Pogon Szczecin in thrilling match
Szczecin, Poland – Pogon Szczecin defeated Cracovia Krakow 6-2 in a vibrant match from matchday 25 of the Ekstraklasa, played at the Stadion Miejski im. Floriana Krygiera. Despite a promising start for Cracovia, with two early goals from B. Kallman (one penalty in the 5th minute and another in the 11th), Pogon mounted a comeback with an offensive display.
A goal by F. Ulvestad in the 45th minute, followed by an own goal by O. Kakabadze in the same minute, leveled the score before halftime. The second half was even more dramatic. M. van Buren received a red card in the 63rd minute, leaving Cracovia with ten players. Pogon took advantage of the numerical superiority, scoring through a penalty by E. Koulouris in the 82nd minute and a second own goal, this time by V. Ghita, in the 84th minute. F. Ulvestad sealed the victory with a goal in the 90th minute.
The match was marked by Pogon’s superiority in possession (65% against 35%), although both teams had similar accuracy in shots on goal (5 each). Cracovia committed 11 fouls, receiving two yellow cards and one red, while Pogon committed 7 fouls and received one yellow.
