Podbrezová and Komárno played an exciting match in the 22nd round of the Slovak Super Liga, held at the ZELPO Aréna Podbrezová on March 1st, 2025. The match, officiated by Igor Valent, ended in a 2-2 draw.
Podbrezová took the lead early with a goal from D. Smekal in the 32nd minute, assisted by A. Yirajang. However, an own goal by D. Spiriak in the 62nd minute leveled the score. Komárno turned the game around with two quick goals: first by T. Nemeth in the 76th minute, assisted by D. Zak, and then by N. Spalek in the 84th minute.
Despite dominating possession (58% to 42%), Podbrezová couldn’t capitalize on their advantage, registering 9 shots (6 on target) compared to Komárno’s 13 (4 on target). Both teams had 5 corners. Podbrezová received two yellow cards (S. Fasko and R. Paraj) and Komárno one (D. Ozvolda). A vibrant match reflecting the league’s competitiveness.
