Baník Ostrava Edges Out Plzeň in Close Doosan Aréna Match
Plzeň, Czech Republic – Baník Ostrava secured a vital 1-0 victory over Plzeň in a hard-fought match at the Doosan Aréna this Saturday, March 16th at 2:30 PM. The game, part of the 26th round of the 2024 Czech Liga season, saw Plzeň dominate possession (59%), but Baník Ostrava proved more clinical in front of goal.
The only goal of the game came in the 23rd minute through a well-taken finish by E. Prekop, assisted by P. Kpozo. Although Plzeň had more shots (13 to Baník Ostrava’s 11), only two of their attempts were on target, compared to Baník Ostrava’s one. This difference in accuracy, combined with a resolute defensive display, proved decisive in securing the win for Baník Ostrava. The match was officiated by Ondrej Berka from the Czech Republic.
