Chaves Dominates Penafiel at Estádio Municipal 25 de Abril
Penafiel, Portugal – Chaves convincingly defeated Penafiel in their visit to the Estádio Municipal 25 de Abril in a match corresponding to matchday 4 of the Segunda Liga. The match, officiated by referee David Rafael Oliveira da Silva, saw Chaves take control from the start.
D. Kusso opened the scoring for Chaves just in the 6th minute, following an assist from R. Alves, setting the pace for the match. Penafiel tried to react, but were hindered by early yellow cards to Pedro Sa (minute 8) and Iano Imbene (minute 23).
In the second half, Chaves consolidated their victory with a goal from Roberto in the 52nd minute, assisted by Tiago Almeida. Despite Penafiel’s efforts to get back into the game, they failed to trouble the opponent’s goal. The match was marked by several yellow cards to Penafiel, including one to J. Sanchez in the 84th minute.
Despite balanced possession, Penafiel failed to reflect that possession on the scoreboard, recording no shots on goal. For their part, Chaves knew how to take advantage of their opportunities. The match ended in victory for Chaves.
