CRB defeats Paysandu in thrilling match in Belém
CRB emerged victorious against Paysandu with a 2-1 win in a thrilling encounter at the Estádio Estadual Jornalista Edgar Augusto Proença in Belém, Pará, this Saturday, April 27th, 2025. The match, part of the fifth round of the 2025 Brazilian Série B, was officiated by Paulo Schleich Vollkopf and was marked by its intensity and a Paysandu red card.
Thiaguinho put CRB ahead in the 41st minute, but Reverson equalized for Paysandu just three minutes later. The sending off of Leandro Vilela for Paysandu in the 60th minute proved to be a turning point, leaving the home side with a man down. While CRB also received two yellow cards, their superior possession (59%) and higher number of shots on target (5) allowed them to secure the win. Despite the loss, Paysandu created numerous chances (20 shots in total).
