Middlesbrough Thrashes Oxford United in Thrilling Encounter
Middlesbrough secured a convincing 5-2 victory over Oxford United at the Kassam Stadium in Oxford, Oxfordshire, in a matchday 16 Championship clash. The game, officiated by Josh Smith, was a back-and-forth affair with goals at both ends.
Oxford United took the lead in the 24th minute through G. Leigh. However, Middlesbrough responded strongly. E. Latte Lath scored a penalty in the 37th minute, followed by goals from Azaz (42′) and Lath (45′, 49′), putting Middlesbrough 3-1 ahead at halftime.
In the second half, Lath continued his impressive performance, although Oxford United pulled one back through D. Scarlett in the 72nd minute. But Middlesbrough remained relentless, with Conway (80′) and Azaz (83′) adding further goals to secure a comfortable 5-2 win.
