Fluminense secured a victory over Once Caldas at the Estadio Palogrande in Manizales, in a closely fought match corresponding to the first matchday of the 2025 CONMEBOL Sudamericana group stage. The match, refereed by Nicolás Ramírez from Argentina, ended 1-0 in favor of the Brazilian team. Germán Cano scored the only goal of the match in the 31st minute, assisted by Jhon Arias. The game was characterized by a significant number of yellow cards: Once Caldas received four (J. D. Cuesta Santos, A. Garcia Castillo, M. Garcia, and M. Arteaga) and Fluminense two (A.
