Olympiakos Overpowers Depleted Pafos at Karaiskakis Stadium
Piraeus, September 17, 2025 – Olympiakos Piraeus triumphed at home against a combative, but ultimately outmatched, Pafos in a match held at the Stadio Georgios Karaiskáki as part of the UEFA Champions League. The home team largely dominated possession with 70% compared to Pafos’s 30%.
The match was marked by aggression in midfield. Pafos’s Bruno was sent off in the 26th minute after receiving his second yellow card. This numerical disadvantage clearly affected the visiting team’s performance, limiting their offensive opportunities. Pafos only registered 6 shots, with only one on target, while Olympiakos accumulated 17 attempts, although only 3 found the net.
The match, refereed by Istvan Kovacs of Romania, saw a total of six yellow cards, three for each team. Olympiakos committed 15 fouls, slightly more than Pafos’s 13, reflecting the intensity of the game. Despite their clear superiority in possession and shots, Olympiakos couldn’t fully translate their dominance into goals. Pafos, while defensive, fought tooth and nail until the final whistle.
