PAOK Secures Victory Over OFI in Athens
Athens, Greece – In a match held at the Stadio Apóstolos Nikolaidis, PAOK triumphed over OFI with a final score of 2 to 1, in a game corresponding to the third round of Super League 1. The visiting team demonstrated greater effectiveness in front of goal, capitalizing on their opportunities in the first half of the match.
PAOK opened the scoring early, in the 10th minute, with a goal from M. Ozdoev after an excellent assist from A. R. Baba. The pressure continued and D. Pelkas extended the lead in the 24th minute, assisted again by Ozdoev. OFI struggled to contain PAOK’s attack during the first half.
OFI tried to react, but PAOK maintained a solid defense, although A.R. Baba received a yellow card in the 42nd minute. In the second half, PAOK had the opportunity to further extend their lead with a penalty in the 66th minute, but A. Zivkovic missed the shot. OFI took advantage of the renewed morale and scored in the 75th minute with a goal from T. Nuss, assisted by B. Gonzalez, giving hope to the local fans.
Despite OFI’s goal, PAOK managed to maintain control of the match until the end. Although OFI had a slight advantage in ball possession (51% compared to PAOK’s 49%), they failed to translate it into clear goal-scoring opportunities. PAOK generated a greater number of shots (14 against OFI’s 6), although their aim was not their best ally. The match was characterized by physical play, with a total of 25 fouls committed between both teams and three yellow cards shown (two for OFI and one for PAOK).
