Hard-Fought Draw Between Novorizontino and Vila Nova in Brazilian Serie B
Novo Horizonte, São Paulo – In a match held at Estádio Dr. Jorge Ismael de Biasi, Novorizontino and Vila Nova drew with a score of one to one, in a game corresponding to the 29th round of the Brazilian Serie B. Referee Andre Luiz Skettino Policarpo Bento had a busy night, showing a total of eight yellow cards.
Vila Nova took the lead in the 18th minute thanks to a goal by Junior Todinho, who capitalized on an assist from Gabriel Poveda. However, Novorizontino, with 64% ball possession, did not give up and persistently sought the equalizer. The home side’s effort finally paid off in the 76th minute, when Waguininho scored, assisted by Robson, leveling the score.
The match was intense and contested, reflected in the numerous fouls committed by both teams (21 by Novorizontino and 15 by Vila Nova). Despite their dominance in possession and Novorizontino’s 16 goal attempts, only five were on target. Vila Nova, on the other hand, struggled to create danger, with only three shots in the entire match.
