NK Varazdin defeated Sibenik 2-1 in a match played at the Stadion Anđelko Herjavec in Varaždin, Croatia, corresponding to matchday 15 of the 2024 HNL. The game, refereed by Ante Terzić, was marked by Varazdin’s dominance in possession (59%) and shots (11 to 6).
Goals came early. M. Dabro opened the scoring for Varazdin in the 6th minute, assisted by L. Mamic. D. Mitrovski extended the lead in the 47th minute, assisted by M. Sego. However, Sibenik pulled one back in the 82nd minute through a goal by L. Kulusic, assisted by M. Prekodravac.
Despite the defeat, Sibenik showed more defensive commitment, although with a significant inferiority in ball possession. The match was also lively, with several cautions: two for Varazdin and four for Sibenik.
