Lokomotiva Stuns Dinamo Zagreb in Thrilling Encounter
Zagreb, December 14, 2024 – NK Lokomotiva Zagreb pulled off a stunning upset against Dinamo Zagreb in a thrilling match at Stadion Kranjčevićeva, securing a 3-2 victory. Despite Dinamo dominating possession (63% to 37%), Lokomotiva proved more clinical in front of goal.
Lokomotiva took an early lead through Roko Mudrazija’s goal in the 14th minute, assisted by Amir Smakaj. Dinamo responded with a goal from Mislav Pjaca in the 27th minute, assisted by Robert Torrente. Lokomotiva regained the lead in the 36th minute with a goal from Fran Karacic, assisted by Mateo Pajac. Before halftime, Mudrazija scored his second goal of the match in the 45th minute, again assisted by Pajac, putting Lokomotiva 3-1 up. Pjaca scored for Dinamo at minute 27.
The match was a fiercely contested affair, with a total of 24 fouls (16 by Lokomotiva and 8 by Dinamo) and five yellow cards (three for Lokomotiva and two for Dinamo). Despite Dinamo’s superior shot count (21 to 7), Lokomotiva’s accuracy proved the difference. The match, refereed by Ante Culina of Croatia, was the 17th round of the 2024 HNL season.
