Newport County Secures Home Victory Against Crewe
Newport, England – Newport County celebrated a victory at Rodney Parade against Crewe in a League Two match that ended with a score of 2-0. The home team, despite having less ball possession (41%), was more effective in front of the goal.
The first goal came in the 28th minute, scored by C. Baker-Richardson, who opened the scoring without an assist. Despite a yellow card for A. Driscoll-Glennon in the 40th minute, Newport maintained their composure. Crewe, although dominating possession with 59%, struggled to convert their attacks. The visiting team received two yellow cards, one for J. J. Mingi in the 49th minute and another for L. Moult in the 73rd minute, along with another card in the 90th minute for J. Connolly.
In the second half, Newport extended their lead in the 76th minute thanks to a goal by S. Braybrooke, also without an assist. Ultimately, Newport’s effectiveness in front of the rival goal was key to securing the three points at home.
