Rosario Central defeated Newell’s Old Boys 2-1 in a thrilling match played at the Estadio Marcelo Alberto Bielsa in Rosario. The game, corresponding to the sixth matchday of the first phase of the 2025 Argentine Professional League, was dominated in possession by Newell’s Old Boys (66%), who took 18 shots (6 on target). However, Rosario Central’s efficiency was key.
G. Duarte opened the scoring in the 17th minute, assisted by C. Quintana. In the second half, J. Campaz extended the lead for the home side in the 63rd minute, also thanks to an assist from Quintana.
