National Bank of Egypt pulled off a surprising upset against Pyramids FC in a thrilling match at the Cairo International Stadium. Despite Pyramids FC dominating possession (73% to 27%), National Bank of Egypt emerged victorious with a 4-2 scoreline in the 5th round of the Egyptian Premier League Championship Round.
M. Ibrahim gave National Bank of Egypt an early lead in the 4th minute, assisted by I. Yakubu. O. Faisal extended the lead in the 21st minute with Y. Annor providing the assist. Pyramids FC fought back, with I. Adel scoring in the 48th minute, assisted by M. Hamdi. Hamdi himself scored again in the 74th minute securing the comeback for his side. Despite Pyramids FC’s dominance with 11 shots (5 on target) versus National Bank of Egypt’s 8 (7 on target), National Bank of Egypt found the back of the net twice more: first through A. Madbouli in the 82nd minute and then Y. Annor in the 86th minute. However, it wasn’t enough to prevent the loss.
