Nacional Achieves Resounding Victory Against Rio Ave in Funchal
Funchal, Portugal – Nacional celebrated a dominant home victory against Rio Ave at the Estádio da Madeira, in a Primeira Liga match that culminated in a 4 to 0 score. Nacional, with 47% possession, demonstrated greater effectiveness in attack, outperforming Rio Ave, who maintained 53% possession.
The first goal arrived in the 34th minute, courtesy of Gabriel Veron, who took advantage of an excellent assist from Ze Vitor to open the scoring. The second half began strongly for Nacional, with J. Ramirez scoring in the 47th minute, assisted by A. Nunez. Nacional continued to press and Leo Santos extended the lead in the 72nd minute, thanks to a precise pass from Jose Gomes. Finally, Witi sealed the victory with a goal in stoppage time, assisted by Matheus Dias.
The match was also marked by intensity in the game, reflected in the 17 fouls committed by Nacional, resulting in two yellow cards for Leo Santos and Ze Vitor. Rio Ave, although with greater possession, failed to capitalize on their opportunities, falling short in shots on goal (6) compared to Nacional’s 5.
