AZ Alkmaar Secures Hard-Fought Victory in Breda
Breda, Netherlands – In a tightly contested match at the Rat Verlegh Stadion, AZ Alkmaar emerged victorious against NAC Breda in a game characterized by intensity and cards. The home team, with less ball possession (38% compared to AZ’s 62%), fought tooth and nail despite playing with one man down from the 41st minute following the expulsion of S. van Hooijdonk.
The match was tense from the start. M. de Wit of AZ received the first yellow card in the 35th minute. In the second half, I. Sadiq was also cautioned in the 55th minute.
