MVV Maastricht secured a convincing 2-0 victory over FC Eindhoven in a lively match at the De Geusselt stadium in Maastricht. The home team demonstrated a clear superiority, particularly in their clinical finishing. MVV enjoyed slightly more possession (53%), although FC Eindhoven also created chances.
The goals came in the first half. S. Braken opened the scoring in the 41st minute, assisted by I. Silva Timas. Four minutes later, B. Smeets doubled MVV’s lead, also assisted by I. Silva Timas. The game was intense, with a total of 29 fouls (16 by MVV and 13 by FC Eindhoven), and four yellow cards, two for each team. Despite FC Eindhoven’s efforts, MVV held firm defensively and earned a deserved win. The match, part of the 2024 Eerste Divisie, round 26, was officiated by M. Vos.
