MTK Budapest Rout Diosgyori VTK in Budapest Thriller
MTK Budapest secured a resounding 4-0 victory over Diosgyori VTK in a thrilling NB I match played at the Hidegkuti Nándor Stadion in Budapest on February 21st, 2025. The match, part of the 21st round of the regular season, saw MTK dominate large stretches of the game, despite a relatively even possession split (47% MTK, 53% Diosgyori VTK).
Goals arrived in a lively first half and a dominant second half. P. Kovacs opened the scoring in the 26th minute, assisted by R. Molnar. M. Jurina doubled the lead in the 41st minute, thanks to a pass from A. Horvath. In the second half, T. Kadar (58′) and B. Varju (78′) added further goals, assisted by Z. Gruber and I. Bognar respectively.
Despite the loss, Diosgyori VTK managed 11 shots, 3 of which were on target. MTK, on the other hand, fired 23 shots, with 6 finding the target. The match was characterized by MTK’s offensive superiority and clinical finishing. Diosgyori VTK received one yellow card to D. Gera in the 50th minute.
