Monterrey Edges Out Pumas in Tense BBVA Stadium Match
Guadalupe, Mexico – Monterrey secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Pumas in a fiercely contested Liga MX Apertura 2024 quarter-final match. Played at the Estadio BBVA, the game was characterized by its physicality and numerous yellow cards. Monterrey dominated possession (64%) and created more scoring chances (11 shots, 1 on target), although they had a goal disallowed for offside in the 60th minute. The only goal of the game arrived in the 86th minute, a penalty converted by Sebastián Canales.
