Guadalupe, Mexico – Monterrey secured a 2-0 victory over Pumas in a hard-fought playoff match at the Estadio BBVA in the Liga MX Clausura Playoffs. The game, played on May 5th, 2025, was characterized by tension and numerous cards. Despite having less possession (37%), Monterrey proved more clinical in front of goal. Goals from Germán Berterame (58′) and Nicolás Deossas (89′) secured the win for Rayados. Pumas’ superior shot count (16 to 6) didn’t translate into goals, likely due to Monterrey’s strong defense.
