Lens Dominates Monaco in Thrilling and Controversial Match
Monaco, France – In a vibrant and action-packed encounter, Lens defeated Monaco at the Stade Louis II with a scoreline that reflects the intensity of the game. The match, corresponding to matchday 12 of Ligue 1, was marked by spectacular goals, a red card that conditioned the course of the game, and a missed penalty in the final moments.
Lens opened the scoring early, in the 21st minute, thanks to a goal by O. Edouard. Monaco responded with a penalty converted by F. Balogun in the 37th minute. However, Lens quickly regained the lead with a goal by W. Said in the 40th minute, assisted by Edouard himself. Just before halftime, M. Sangare extended Lens’ lead in the 45th minute, assisted by F. Thauvin, moments after F. Balogun received a red card, leaving Monaco with ten players.
In the second half, Lens continued to show their superiority, and W. Said scored again in the 60th minute, increasing his team’s lead. Monaco, despite being outnumbered, fought to the end and had the opportunity to narrow the gap in added time, but A. Fati missed a penalty.
