Mirassol Delivers a Thrashing to Bahia at Home
In a match held at Estádio José Maria de Campos Maia, Mirassol displayed an impressive offensive dominance, overpowering Bahia with a resounding victory. From the start, the home team showed aggression, opening the scoring in the 2nd minute with a goal by Joao Victor, assisted by Reinaldo. Mirassol’s constant pressure paid off again in the 22nd minute, when Chico extended the lead with a goal, thanks to an assist from Negueba. An own goal by Ronaldo Strada in the 30th minute further increased the difference on the scoreboard.
Despite having a lower percentage of possession (39% compared to Bahia’s 61%), Mirassol was much more effective in front of goal, with 14 total shots, 9 of which were on target. Cristian Renato sealed the rout in the 75th minute, with an assist from Carlos Eduardo. A goal by Rodrigo in the 88th minute, assisted by Jean Lucas, slightly improved the result for Bahia. Mirassol had a goal disallowed by VAR in the 87th minute due to offside.
Bahia, although dominating possession, failed to translate that superiority into clear goal-scoring opportunities, taking only 12 shots, of which only 5 were on target. Mirassol, with a solid defense and an implacable attack, took a well-deserved victory at their stadium.
