Thrilling Penalty Shootout in Saint Paul: Seattle Sounders Advance
Allianz Field in Saint Paul hosted an electrifying match between Minnesota United FC and Seattle Sounders, in a game valid for the round of 16 of the Major League Soccer. Seattle Sounders emerged victorious after an extensive penalty shootout, following a draw that kept fans on the edge of their seats.
The match started at a frantic pace. Seattle quickly took the lead with goals from A. Rusnak in the 5th minute and D. Musovski in the 8th. However, Minnesota United reacted, reducing the deficit in the 19th minute thanks to J. Pereyra. The first half also saw a yellow card for Y. Gomez Andrade (Seattle) in the 18th minute and for J. Pereyra (Minnesota) in the 26th minute, in addition to a red card for J. Rosales (Minnesota) in the 41st minute and a yellow for M. Boxall (Minnesota) at 45, which complicated the outlook for the home team.
