Saint Paul, Minnesota – In a match corresponding to week 27 of the Major League Soccer regular season, Minnesota United FC secured a valuable home victory against the Seattle Sounders. The match, played at Allianz Field under the watchful eye of referee Malik Badawi, was characterized by overwhelming possession dominance from Seattle (70%), which, however, failed to translate into goals.
Minnesota, with 30% possession, capitalized on their opportunities, and a goal by J. Pereyra in the 73rd minute, without an assist, gave them the decisive lead. The match was tense, reflected in the number of fouls committed (8 by Minnesota and 11 by Seattle) and the yellow cards received (two for Minnesota and one for Seattle).
