Minnesota United FC falls to Inter Miami in thrilling match
Saint Paul, Minnesota – Allianz Field hosted a thrilling match between Minnesota United FC and Inter Miami CF, with a 3-4 victory for the visitors. The match, corresponding to matchday 18 of the 2025 Major League Soccer regular season, was marked by a large number of goals and excitement until the final whistle.
Minnesota started strong, scoring two goals in the first half thanks to Bongokuhle Hlongwane (33rd minute) and Adrien Markanich (45th minute). However, Inter Miami responded strongly in the second half, with Lionel Messi pulling one back in the 48th minute. Minnesota later suffered an own goal by M. Weigandt (68th minute), but recovered with a goal from Robin Lod (70th minute) assisted by T. Oluwaseyi. Inter Miami secured the victory with their superior possession (74% compared to Minnesota’s 26%) and a greater number of shots on goal (3 out of 10 compared to Minnesota’s 5 out of 8), although both teams received one yellow card each and committed a similar number of fouls.
