Mexico defeats Panama 3-1 in thrilling CONCACAF Nations League Final
Inglewood, California – Mexico claimed the 2024 CONCACAF Nations League title after defeating Panama 3-1 in a thrilling match at Inglewood’s SoFi Stadium. The game, officiated by Mario Escobar of Guatemala, was intense and exciting until the final whistle.
Raúl Jiménez was the star of the match, scoring two goals, one of them a penalty in added time. His first goal came in the 8th minute, assisted by Roberto Alvarado. Panama momentarily equalized in the 45th minute with a penalty converted by Alberto Carrasquilla. However, another penalty converted by Jiménez in the 90th minute sealed the victory for the Mexican team.
Despite Panama having more possession (54%), Mexico was more effective in attack, generating 15 shots on goal to Panama’s 8. Carrasquilla’s yellow card was the only caution of the match.
This victory represents a great success for Mexico in the CONCACAF Nations League.
