Al Hilal Omdurman edges past MC Alger 1-0 in a tense CAF Champions League clash
Algiers, December 14, 2024 – Al Hilal Omdurman secured a narrow 1-0 victory over MC Alger in a thrilling encounter at the Stade du 5 Juillet 1962, in the Group Stage – Matchday 3 of the 2024 CAF Champions League. The match was characterized by intensity and tension, evident in the high number of fouls committed: 19 by Al Hilal Omdurman and 8 by MC Alger.
Despite dominating possession with 63%, MC Alger struggled to convert their chances. They managed 14 shots, but only 4 were on target. Al Hilal Omdurman, with 37% possession, proved more clinical. G. Fofana scored the winning goal in the 76th minute, assisted by M. Abdelrahman. This goal proved enough to secure the three points for the Sudanese side.
