Marumo Gallants Upsets Orlando Pirates in Bloemfontein Thriller
Marumo Gallants pulled off a 2-1 upset victory over Orlando Pirates in a thrilling match at the Free State Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein on March 1st, 2025, as part of the Premier Soccer League’s round 17. Despite Orlando Pirates dominating possession (72%), Gallants proved more clinical in front of goal.
G. Mhango opened the scoring for Gallants in the 15th minute, assisted by S. Sithole. However, a late own goal by T. Mbatha in the 74th minute secured the victory for Marumo Gallants.
