Olympique de Marseille secured a convincing 5-1 victory over Montpellier HSC at the Orange Vélodrome in Marseille. The match, part of Ligue 1’s gameweek 30, was dominated by the home side, who controlled possession (68%) and created numerous scoring opportunities (17 shots, 7 on target).
Marseille took the lead early with a penalty converted by M. Greenwood in the 8th minute. However, Montpellier equalized with an own goal by W. Ndollo Bille in the 60th minute. Marseille responded with a strong finish, netting three more goals in the final 25 minutes. M. Greenwood scored again in the 67th minute, followed by goals from J. Rowe (74′) and A. Rabiot (90′). L. Mincarelli scored a consolation goal for Montpellier in the 83rd minute.
